Transformers 2: Trailer
The first Transformers 2 trailer was released as a teaser during the 2009 Superbowl. An additional short trailer has since been released. Both are spectacularly light on plot points, but they get the gist of the movie out there:

First watch the trailer, and then keep reading if you think there is.
Okay, so what can we glean from this:
Paris is toast. So are some aircraft carriers and other military vehicles. If you’re familiar with alien-invasion movies, you know this means war has been declared by the aliens. Since the movie is called Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, we guess that the Fallen is the attacker.
The Egyptian pyramids make an appearance, and we know that much of the plot focuses on the arrival of the original Transformers in Egypt before these wonders of the world were built.
And then, of course, there are the stars. Shia LaBeouf manages to look both cute and serious at the same time. Megan Fox freaks out while looking sexy. Josh Duhamel in fatigues is commanding and hot.
Finally, the machines appear. Bumblebee, the Camaro, transforms to take on a baddie Decepticon. We also note that American cars are always good guys. (We assume that’s because GM didn’t want to lend cars for evil characters. Their reputation is bad enough already.) Megatron is back, so apparently his death didn’t last long after the last movie. There are some other giant Transformers wrecking freeway overpasses and rolling down city streets on giant wheels. In case you were wondering – the Transformers can stretch their matter, which is how a Camaro transforms into a robot bigger than a house.
If you weren’t already scared of big game cats, the monstrous metal cat shown in the Transformers 2 trailer will probably be enough to keep you on the proper side of the zoo cage next time you stop by.
If you didn’t see everything you were hoping for in the Transformers trailer, hold out hope. There are still more trailers to come, and a trailer only lasts 2 minutes. That’s not much time to promote 2 hours worth of movie, especially a non-stop action flick like this entry into the Transformers franchise. And, of course, you can also wait and see if the scenes you were hoping for appear in Transformers 3, coming July 4, 2012.
