| The Story
Another Marvel comic comes to life and this time it is the epic adventure Thor. Chris Hemsworth plays Thor, whose arrogance reignites an ancient war. Thor’s father Odin, played by Anthony Hopkins, casts Thor down to Earth to live with the humans from the realm of Asgard to teach him some lessons in humility. A pretty young scientist (Natalie Portman) becomes Thor’s first true love. It is on Earth that Thor can truly understand what it means to be a hero. Read on to find out more about the characters before you check them out in 3-D! The Characters Thor The super strong, fast, and handsome Thor is played by Australian heart throb Chris Hemsworth. Viewers get to see him in two avatars, one dressed in all his battle regalia as a Norse God, carrying the hammer that Mjolnir has specially created for him, and the other as his earthly alter ego Donald Blake who is a gifted surgeon, has a great sense of humor, sports a six pack and speaks in early modern English. If women don’t swoon over his body, they will certainly fall for his accent. Jane Foster Jane Foster is played by the very versatile and talented Natalie Portman who finds Thor just as he lands on earth, after his father Odin banishes him. Her earthliness and charm rub off on Thor and help him learn his much needed lessons in humility. Jane falls helplessly and hopelessly in love with Donald. Odin The mighty Norse God and ruler of Asgard is played by Anthony Hopkins. Since he is the most powerful Norse God, he possesses phenomenal strength and has an extended lifespan. Angered by his son’s juvenile antics and lack of responsibility, he takes away his son identity and powers and banishes him to earth. Loki The God of lies and mischief is played by Tom Hiddleston. He was adopted by Odin and grew up alongside Thor. Instead of being grateful and thankful for his new home, Loki is green with envy and jealous of Thor and tries at several stages to sabotage him not only while in Asgard but even when Thor is banished to earth. Frigga The beautiful Norse Goddess is played by Rene Russo. She is Oden’s wife and helps raise Thor and Loki. |
