The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1
Bella and Edward married in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.

The Characters:

Bella Swan

The protagonist of the series is Bella is a young girl, dealing with typical teen angst that is compounded by her falling hopelessly in love with a vampire – Edward Cullen. Through her yearning to be with him forever, no matter what it takes, Bella endures separation, near death adventures, and even a painful transformation. In Breaking Dawn, Bella (Kristen Stewart) marries the love of her life Edward Cullen and becomes pregnant with their daughter, Renesmee. Bella finally gets her everlasting wish when she nearly dies giving birth to her child and Edward is forced to transform her into a vampire.

Edward Cullen

A major character, Edward, played by heartthrob Robert Pattinson, is a mysterious and brooding young man who was transformed into a vampire by Dr. Carlisle Cullen when he was dying of the Spanish influenza in 1918. He falls in love with Bella at the start of this dramatic tale and after trying to keep her safe from his twisted world, he decides to follow his heart and marry her.

Jacob Black

Jacob Black, played by Taylor Lautner, is an old childhood friend of Bella’s who has always been in love with her. A Native American and a werewolf, Jacob belongs to a clan of nature destined to loathe the Vampire dynasty. Although he spends most of his time trying to win Bella over in the previous films, the movie Breaking Dawn sees Jacob undergoing the process of ‘imprinting’ – an involuntary ritual whereby a werewolf finds their soul-mate, in this case, Bella’s daughter Renesmee.

Carlisle Cullen

An important figure throughout the series, Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) is a vampire who is the essence of compassion and an expert in the field of medicine. He is looked to as a leader who guides, advises, and protects those he cares about. He is a great source of help and strength when Bella is pregnant in this new unfolding drama.

The Volturi

The Volturi are the vampire royalty, residing in Italy, who enforce the rules and norms that dictate the existence of vampires everywhere. In Breaking Dawn, when they learn of the existence of an immortal child, they travel to Forks to destroy her and the Cullens. They are a lingering threat to the Cullens throughout the entire Twilight series.

Once again, it is the battle of good versus evil, the known versus the unknown, and an action packed story that always leaves us wanting more. Good thing there is still a second half of Breaking Dawn to come.
