Breaking Dawn Part 2, the epic conclusion to the worldwide phenomenon, puts Bella, Edward and the rest of the Cullens in a battle for their lives, in this heart-wrenching, immortal love story. The fifth and final installment of the story picks up at the end of  The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 after a much anticipated transformation. Directed by Bill Condon, the film strays from the plot of Stephanie Meyer’s popular novels and has a “new” ending written by Meyer and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg.  The finale brings justice to the saga’s end as it is filled with dramatic twists and heartbreaking tales before the epic conclusion.

The Characters:

Bella Cullen

The protagonist of the series is Bella: A young girl dealing with typical teenage angst compounded by falling hopelessly in love with a vampire – Edward Cullen. Through the saga Bella endures separation, near death adventures and a painful transformation. In Breaking Dawn Part 1, Bella (Kristen Stewart) marries Edward and becomes a member of the Olympic Coven. She is transformed into a vampire by Edward after nearly dying giving birth to their daughter. As a human, Bella possessed a natural immunity to the mental powers of vampires. After her transformation, she develops the ability to project a mental shield that protects others from the psychic powers of other vampires.

Edward Cullen

Edward (Robert Pattinson) is a telepathic vampire and a founding member of the Olympic Coven, as well as a main protagonist of the Twilight Saga. He is the husband of Bella Swan and the father of Renesmee Cullen. After nearly dying from the Spanish influenza in 1918 in Chicago, Edward was turned into a vampire by Carlisle, as the only alternative to death. Over the next ninety years, the pair gathered a family of vampires around themselves and formed the Coven as “vegetarians.”

Jacob Black

Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner) is Bella’s childhood friend and a werewolf part of a clan destined to loathe the vampire dynasty. Although he spends most of his time trying to win Bella over in the previous films, the movie Breaking Dawn sees Jacob undergoing the process of “imprinting” – an involuntary ritual whereby a werewolf finds their soul-mate, in this case, Bella and Edward’s daughter, Renesmee.

Carlisle Cullen

An important figure throughout the series, Dr. Carlisle Cullen (Peter Facinelli) is a vampire who is an expert in the field of medicine. Carlisle has uncharacteristic compassion which allowed him to perfect the vegetarian vampire lifestyle, completely resisting the temptation of human blood, and pass this restraint to his family.

Renesmee Cullen

The vampire/human hybrid lovechild of Bella and Edward, Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy) is considered to be a “miracle,” because of what it took to keep her and her mother alive through the pregnancy. She has the special powers to show people her thoughts by touching them. Irina of the Denali Coven sees Renesmee and believes she is an immortal child, a human child who had been turned by a vampire. She informs the Volturi, as immortal children are not permitted to live.

The Volturi

The Volturi are a civilized coven of vampires and enforce the laws of vampires everywhere. In Breaking Dawn Part 2, they are falsely informed Renesmee is an immortal child and travel to Forks to destroy her and the Cullens. They are a lingering threat to the Cullens throughout the entire Twilight Saga.

Peter Parker

Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) has been searching for his purpose in life since his parents disappeared when he was a young boy. He attempts to find the truth about their disappearance at the laboratories of Oscorp.

Gwen Stacy

Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) is a smart yet rebellious intern at Oscorp. Her life gets complicated when her boyfriend, Peter, and mentor, Dr. Connors, experience radical transformations.

Dr. Curt Connors

Dr. Connors (Rhys Ifans) is one of Oscorp’s best scientists who experiments with a revolutionary regeneration serum to re-grow limbs and human tissue. He is the first human test subject for the procedure and things go terribly wrong.

Captain Stacy

Captain Stacy (Denis Leary) is a veteran of the NYPD and leads the investigation into Spider-Man’s vigilantism. He vows to protect his family, particularly his daughter, Gwen, above all else.

Ben and Mary Parker

Ben (Martin Sheen) and May Parker (Sally Field) are Peter’s tirelessly devoted uncle and aunt who have raised him since his parents disappeared when he was a small boy. Peter’s distance in their relationship grows as he discovers secrets about his past.

Richard and Mary Parker

Richard (Campbell Scott) and Mary Parker (Embeth Davidtz) are Peter’s parents. Though happy on the outside, a dark secret lays underneath that ends their lives, and later threatens Peter and all of New York City.

The film picks up from Batman taking the fall for District Attorney Harvey Dent’s (Two-Face) crimes to protect Dent’s reputation, which results in Batman being hunted by the Gotham City Police Department. Eight years later, Batman returns to Gotham where he meets the mysterious Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and must stop the villain Bane’s plans to destroy the city.

Bruce Wayne/Batman

We see a different side of Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) this time. Eight years have passed so Bruce is older and not in great shape. Bruce finally confronts the pain and loss that has defined his life head-on rather than ignoring it with his playboy-life of lavish parties. We see Batman struggle to control the killer inside him as he deals with villains of matched intelligence and strength. Bale has stated that this will be his last role as Batman in the series.

Bane

Bane (Tom Hardy) is Batman’s primary villain in the movie and tests Batman both physically and mentally. Bane wears a mask that supplies him with an analgesic gas to relive the pain suffered from a past injury. His fighting style is centered on brutality and carnage. Primarily a physical villain, Bane also uses his advanced brain to scheme complex terrorist plots.

Selina Kyle/Catwoman

Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway) is Bane’s associate and deadly assassin. Just like the DC Comics, Catwoman blurs the lines of right and wrong in the film as she seems to help Batman at one point and turn on him the next. She knows that a storm is coming to shake Wayne’s foundation but is she using that information to help him or intimidate him?

Commissioner Gordon

James Gordon (Gary Oldman) is the commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department and one of the city’s few honest police offers. He is also one of the very few that know the truth behind Batman’s downward spiral as Gotham’s enemy. But, he kept his promise to the Dark Knight to keep Gotham from knowing how the heroic Harvey Dent went insane after the accident that took half his face off. It seems that Gordon has cleaned up Gotham eight years later but a storm of terrorist criminal activity is coming and he can’t face it alone.

John Blake

John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is a new character to the series. He is one of Commissioner Gordon’s top beat cops who has helped keep Gotham’s streets clean since Batman’s disappearance. There is speculation that he could be Robin or the next Batman.

Alfred Pennyworth

Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine) is Bruce Wayne’s butler and caretaker who vowed to look after the young Master Bruce after his parents were gunned down at an early age. He knows more about Wayne’s exploits as Batman than anyone and is the closest thing Bruce has to a family.

Lucius Fox

Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman) runs Wayne Enterprises on behalf of Bruce Wayne and is another close confidant. He is the genius behind Batman’s wide array of gadgets and nifty transportation.

Miranda Tate

Miranda Tate (Marion Cotillard) is a board member at Wayne Enterprises. Though Bruce Wayne’s real identity takes a backseat to his superhero persona, she is eager to get Bruce Wayne on track with the philanthropic endeavors his father was known for.

Katniss Everdeen

Sixteen-year-old heroine Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) takes her younger sister’s place as a tribute from District 12 in the 74^th Hunger Games. Since food is lacking in the coal mining district, Katniss illegally hunts for food in the woods with her friend Gale. She is quite handy with her bow and arrow.

Gale Hawthorne

Gale (Liam Hemsworth) is Katniss’ best friend from District 12, and is an expert at archery and trapping. His unbridled devotion to Katniss stems from his secret love for her.

Peeta Mellark

Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is the male tribute chosen from District 12 alongside Katniss. He has known Katniss since they were five, even though he has never spoken to her until the Hunger Games. He saved her life when they were 11 by giving her a burnt loaf of bread from his father’s bakery. He, too, loves Katniss and reveals his love for her during the games.

Haymitch Abernathy

Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) is the District 12 mentor to Katniss and Peeta for the Hunger Games. He previously won the 50^th games as a 16-year-old tribute from District 12. Since then, he has turned to alcohol to escape what happened to him during the games. However, his cleverness proves beneficial for Katniss and Peeta.

Effie Trinket

Effie (Elizabeth Banks) is a Capitol chaperone to Katniss and Peeta during the Hunger Games. She aspires for a promotion from District 12, but it slowly grows on her. She has bright pink hair and is strict about manners.

Cinna

Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) is Katniss’ stylist and designs her elaborate outfits for the Hunger Games. He becomes close friends with her and supports the resistance to the Capitol.

President Coriolanus Snow

President Snow (Donald Sutherland) is the ruler of the Capitol and entire country of Panem. He is one of the most evil and feared characters in The Hunger Games and always wears a white rose in his lapel to cover the scent of blood.

Breaking Dawn is the last chapter in the Twilight Saga, and will be told in two parts. In Breaking Dawn, when they learn of the existence of an immortal child, they travel to Forks to destroy her and the Cullens. They are a lingering threat to the Cullens throughout the entire Twilight series.

Once again, it is the battle of good versus evil, the known versus the unknown, and an action packed story that always leaves us wanting more. Good thing there is still a second half of Breaking Dawn to come.

Ryan Reynolds stars as the Green Lantern.

What would summer be without several blockbusters featuring comic book superheroes? We’ve already seen Thor, now it’s time for The Green Lantern to land on the big screen.

Ryan Reynolds plays the lead role as the cocky test pilot who is selected to join the Green Lantern Corps. He brings to the Green Lanterns something they’ve never had: humanity. He is later a founding members of the Justice League of America (rumored to be a 2013 movie.)

Carol Ferris

Blake Lively plays the VP of Ferris aircraft, and Hal’s longtime love. In the comics, she is also Star Sapphire, a villainous who attempts to destroy the Green Lantern several times throughout the comic book series.  Talk about romantic conflict!

Dr. Hector Hammond

Peter Sarsgaard is the eccentric and villainous scientist who discovers a meteor that greatly enlarges his brain and gives him psychic powers.

Thaal Sinestro

Mark Strong plays the Green Lantern who becomes Hal Jordan’s mentor. He rules the Corps with an iron-fist, and has doubts about whether Jordan should be allowed to join it. In comic book fashion, he will also go on to become a super-villain, but we don’t if that happens in this movie or not.

Synopsis

They’re back! Autobots Bumblebee, Ratchet, Ironhide, and Sideswipe, all led by the fearless Optimus Prime, are ready for some more action and adventure. In Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon, a Cybertronian spacecraft has been discovered on the moon and the Autobots need to locate it before their rivals the evil Decepticons find it. This highly awaited action flick has been directed by Michael Bay and promises some amazing visuals, hard core action scenes, and a super cool sound score.

The Autobots are back in Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon.

Sam Witwicky

Sam, played by Shia LaBeouf, returns as a major player in Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon. He has a special friendship with the Autobots and once again finds himself in need of their help. Although he is looking more in shape than ever in this third chapter of Transformer, but if his brute strength is not enough to keep the bad guys away, he can use his intense weaponry.

Carly

Carly, played by blonde and beautiful Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a new face in their action studded film and plays Sam’s new love interest. Will Sam get the girl, despite having to fight off evil Decepticons?

Major William Lennox

Hunky Josh Duhamel plays Major Lennox,  tasked with leading NEST, a skilled and lethal task force that is assigned to defeat the Decepticons. His main role is to keep a close eye on the Autobots.

Megatron

Hugo Weaving

lends his voice to Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons. He is known for his craftiness, intelligence, and power. He hates Optimus Prime with a passion and is out to destroy not just him but all the Autobots once and for all. His alternate mode is a rusty Mack Titan 10-wheeler fuel tank truck outfitted with heavy weaponry.Optimus Prime

Peter Cullens lends his rich baritone to the powerful Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. His alternate mode is a freightliner cab-over engine semi-truck, a Peterbilt 379 truck.  This time around he has been given a slight makeover to look more powerful. He and his arch rival Megatron are seen battling it out in Transformers 3, each trying to find the Cybertronian spacecraft and discover its secrets.

Bumblebee

Sam’s guardian Bumblebee is also given a new more mature look. His alternate mode is a fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro.

Shockwave

Frank Welker voices Shockwave, the main villain of Transformers 3. He transforms into a Cybertronian tank and is out to destroy whatever comes in his path.

There are many other characters and Autobots that bring this action movie to life. Barbossa

Like Jack Sparrow, he too is searching for the fountain of youth but this time he joins King George II’s Royal navy and leads the expedition. Will this reformed privateer find the prized fountain before the captain?

Blackbeard

Blackbeard is the most dreaded and feared pirates of all times and is played by Ian McShane. He captains the Queen Anne’s Revenge and the ship is guarded by zombies. He is desperate to find the fountain of youth as he wants to prove his prophesied death wrong.

Syrena

The beautiful alluring mermaid is played by Astrid Bergès-Frisbey. Unlike her deadly mermaid sisters, she doesn’t have revenge on her mind. However, she can’t stop thinking about the young missionary who she meets during her captivity on Blackbeard’s ship.

Philip Swift

The only sane and honest one on this crew of thugs and thieves is the young missionary Sam Clafin. His goal is also the fountain of youth but is captured and taken prisoner by Blackbeard. Once he meets Syrena, the object of his desire dramatically shifts from eternal youth to eternal love.
